Stitching

De uitdaging bij HM Monday challenge #6 is 'stitching' in eender welke vorm. Blijkt dat ik geen enkele HM afbeelding heb die in aanmerking komt, dus heb ik maar lint met steekjes (kant-en-klaar) gebruikt; een knoopje met draad vastgemaakt en steekjes 'getekend'. HM stempel 'Say cheese' werd ingekleurd met stempelstiften, tekststempel van Limited Edition, papier 'Bamboo' van BasicGrey, lint en knoopjes van Artemio.

The HM Monday challenge #6 is all about 'stitching'. As I don't have a HM stamp that's suited, I had to do some stitching myself. I used ribbon with stitches, applied a button with some thread and 'drew' some stiches. HM stamp 'Say cheese' is coloured with my markers, text stamp is from Limited Edition, DP 'Bamboo' by BasicGrey, ribbon and buttons by Artemio.

A smile to brighten your day!

Bij Cute Card Thursday #28 willen ze 'voedsel' op de kaarten zien. HM 'Apple delight' (lekker gezond!) werd ingekleurd met stempelstiften, Stampabilities tekst 'A smile'gestempeld met Versafine Smokey Gray en Crimson Red. De knoop is met 3D foamblokjes bevestigd zodat het koordje er rond past. Papier Prima Marketing Inc. (De kleuren passen in het echt veel mooier bij elkaar dan op de scan, grrr.)

Cute Card Thursday #28 wants to see food on our cards. HM 'Apple delight' (health food!) was coloured with markers, text 'A smile' was stamped with Versafine Smokey Gray and Crimson Red. The button is adjusted with 3D foam pads. DP from Prima Marketing Inc. (The colours are much better matched in real life, than on the scan, grrr.)

Fijne feestdagen

Hier is mijn kaart voor de Ismaki challenge #31. De stempel van Aladine werd 3x gestempeld met Versamark en geëmbossed met Artemio 'detail gold'. Over de afbeelding veegde ik Adirondack 'watermelon' en 'citrus'; dit depte ik met zwarte Color Box om dan te embossen met 'clear' embossingpoeder (het effect is niet zo duidelijk op de scan).Verder gebruikte ik m'n nieuwe Cuttlebugmal. De tekst is van Stamps Antwerpen. De optie 'ster' zit in het papier, tekening,afbeelding.
Bij A Spoon Full of Sugar vragen ze om een kerstkaart te maken, dus komt deze kaart mooi van pas!

This is my card for the Ismaki challenge #31. The stamp from Aladine was stamped 3 times with Versamark and embossed with Artemio 'detail gold' embossingpowder. Over the image I wiped Adirondack 'watermelon' and 'citrus'; the I padded with black Colourbox and embossed with embossingpowder 'clear' (the effect is rather difficult to see on the scan). I also used my new Cuttlebug embossing folder. Text from Stamps Antwerpen. The option 'star' can be found in the paper, background, image.
At A Spoon Full of Sugar they would love to see X-mas cards, so I think this one fits here too!

Nieuwe voorraad cardstock, maar minder tijd. New cardstock but less time!

Ik vraag me altijd af waar iedereen de tijd en energie haalt om kaarten te maken, aan challenges deel te nemen, blogs te volgen én dan nog te gaan werken, het huishouden te doen, de hond uit te laten, enzovoort! Ik ben al blij dat ik tijd vind om m'n voorraad papier aan te vullen!
Ik denk dat ik binnenkort weer minder zal bloggen: ik heb namelijk besloten de Master Sociaal werk te volgen. Ik combineer dit met FT werken, een huishouden: mijn partner, een hond en 4 poezen en nog 2 dwergkonijnen, een waterschildpad en een vis.

I always wonder where everybody finds the time and energy to make new cards, take part in challenges, follow blogs and also go to work, do some housekeeping, go for a stroll with the dog and so on... I'm already happy if I can find time to buy some new cardstock!
I'll probably will be blogging less, as I have decided to start the Master Social Work. I combine this with a FT job and a household: mijn partner, a dog and 4 cats, 2 rabbits, a turtle and a fish.

Mans card - Mannenkaart

Voor de Penny Black Saturday challenge week 14 luidde de opdracht een kaart voor een man te maken én geen blauw te gebruiken! Ik kleurde deze leuke PB Gone Fishin' in met stempelstiften. Cardstock van Core Color en designpapier van All My Memories. De kaart past voor een verjaardag, pensioen, enz.

Deze kaart is voor de House Mouse Monday challenge #5 'Paper Piecing'. De bekertjes op de stempel zijn met stukjes gekleurd papier 'gelaagd'. De stempel is 'Halloween Purr-ty' en ingekleurd met stempelstiften. Papier van S.E.I.

Winterkaart

Bij Ismaki #30 is de uitdaging een kaart te maken met een draaiend paneel; de optie is kerst. De stempel is van Inkadinkado; de tekststempel van Stamps Antwerpen (te verkrijgen bij Elke verschooten); papier 'Flannel shirt' van Basic Grey.

Ready!

Deze kaart maakte ik voor de geboorte van Lars, zoontje van Carine en Marc. Ik gebruikte hiervoor de schitterende sketch van Friday Sketchers #19. De superleuke stempel is een 'Dolly Mama' van Stamps Happen en is ingekleurd met stempelstiften; het papier is 'Colony' en 'Cosmo' van Prima Marketing Inc.

Hang in there!

Het thema bij Cute Card Thursday is deze week 'katten en honden'. Ik gebruikte deze superleuke 'Hang in there' stempel van Gary Patterson voor Stamps Happen en heb hem ingekleurd met stempelstiften (ben er even aan bezig geweest). Nog een 'straatkat' als versiering en m'n kaart was af!

The theme of the week at CCT is 'cats and dogs'. I used this real funny 'Hang in there' stamp from Gary Patterson for Stamps Happen and coloured it with markers (this kept me busy for quiet some time). I added an 'alley cat' embellishment, and that's it!

Gelukkige verjaardag!

Weer een leuke sketch bij de Sketch Saturday challenge deze week! Ik maakte er deze verjaardagskaart mee. Omdat ik de juiste kleur knoop niet vond, heb ik hem maar geschilderd met acrylverf 'light plum' en een laagje glitterlak gegeven.
Verjaardag is toevallig het thema bij TGIF #49!
Bij Penny Black Saturday challenge is het thema 'One for the Girls'; ik denk dat deze kaart daar best bij past!

Another great sketch at the Sketch Saturday challenge. I made this birthday card and 'birthday' happens to be the theme at TGIF #49! Because I didn't find the perfect button, I painted it with 'light plum' acrylics and gave it a layer of glitter lacquer.
At Penny Black Saturday challenge the theme is 'One for the girls'; I think this card fits here!

Halloween

Halloween met een 'stoute' knipoog voor de Theme Thursday challenge. Spijtig genoeg zie je het spinrag niet echt duidelijk. Stempels: Stamp it Crazy, Inkadinkado en PSX.

The midnight hour

Geen vlinders, maar vleermuizen en uilen voor mijn interpretatie van Friday Sketchers #18!. Om middernacht is het heksenuur!
De heks is van Stamps Antwerpen, de uil van Timeless images, de klok een Heidi Swapp clear stamp.

House Mouse 'on a budget'

De uitdaging bij House Mouse Monday challenge #4 is iets te maken voor minder dan 2 dollar, dus ongeveer 1,50 euro. Gelukkig tellen de prijs van stempels, potloden, cuttlebug, enzovoort niet mee! Omdat ik binnen m'n budget gebleven ben, heb ik nog een cadeaulabeltje bijgemaakt.
Cardstock ong. 0,70 euro; lint 0,35; bloemen/pareltje/lijm 0,10 euro.

The House Mouse Monday challenge #4 is to make a card on a budget of 2 dollar, about 1,50 euro. Luckily stamps, pencils, cuttlebug,... are excluded from the price! I used some leftovers, and because I stayed way within budget I also made a small giftlabel.
Cardstock was about 0,70 euro; ribbon 0,35 euro; flowers/pearl/glue 0,10 euro.

Doopkaartje

Dit kaartje maakte ik voor de doop van Catharina op 7 september 2008. Ik volgde hiervoor de sketch van Ismaki challenge #29. De optie was het gebruik van een mini enveloppe. In de enveloppe zit een labeltje gemaakt met een fotokadertje (Créa Motion) waarin een fotootje van Catharina steekt met op de achterzijde de datum van haar doop. De stempel met de baby is van 'Love you to bits', het vlinderpapier van S.E.I.
De keuze van al de rozige tinten is tevens perfect voor de CCT challenge 26(Cute Card Thursday), waar het thema 'Pretty in pink' is! Dit is de eerste keer dat ik 2 challenges in 1 kaart combineer.

I made this this card for Catharina who will be baptised 7th September, using the sketch from Ismaki challenge #29. The option was to use a mini envelope. To put inside the envelope I made a tag with a small photoframe (Créa Motion)holding a picture from Catharina on one side, and the date of her being baptised on the other side. The stamp is from 'Love you to bits', the patterned paper from S.E.I.
The pink colour scheme is perfect for CCT challenge 26, where the theme is 'Pretty in Pink'. First time I combine 2 challenges in 1 card!

House Mouse challenge #3

Ik gebruikte deze leuke HM 'Butterflight' stempel voor de House Mouse Monday challenge #3. In plaats van tekst gebruikte ik een lint met opdruk en een grommet in de vorm van een vlinder.

I used this cute HM 'Butterflight' stamp for the House Mouse Monday challenge #3. Instead of a sentiment I used ribbon with text and a butterfly shaped grommet.

Sketch Saturday

Ik zag deze leuke sketch bij de Sketch Saturday #14 challenge en besloot hem te gebruiken voor de verjaardagskaart van een collega. Het is ook een getalenteerde naaister, vandaar de knoopjes.

I saw this cute sketch at Sketch Saturday #14 and decided to use it for a birthday card for a colleague. She is also a talented dressmaker, hence the buttons.

TGIF 'women'

De TGIF-challenge #48 heeft als (dankbaar) onderwerp 'vrouwen'. Ik herinnerde me opeens dat ik hier een heel geschikt papier van K&Company voor had waarop allerlei synoniemen voor 'vrouw' staan. De stempel is 'Woman in repose'(een 'contradictio in terminis') van Rubber Stampede.

The TGIF challenge #48 is all about women, isn't that a great subject! I suddenly remembered a great paper in my stash from K&Company, with all different kind of words, all referring to 'woman'. The stamp is 'Woman in repose' (a 'contradictio in terminis') by Rubber Stampede.

Moeilijke keuze! Difficult choice!

Friday sketchers #17 had weer een heel leuke sketch. Ik kon alleen niet beslissen of ik de kaart met of zonder gestempelde afbeelding mooier vond, dus toon ik ze maar allebei en is de keuze aan jullie. (Spijtig genoeg komen de kleuren niet zo mooi uit op de scan)

Friday sketchers challenge #17 had another great sketch. As I couldn't decide wether I liked my card better with or without a stamped image, I show them both, and leave the choice up to you. (It's a pity the colours aren't as nice on the scan)
